Reverend Westley West, born April 8, 1988, is the founding pastor of FEMINC and a Baltimore City native. He was called to ministry and answered his calling at the age of twelve. He stepped out on faith and decided to run with his vision for our church making it a reality. Today, Pastor West leads our congregation in faithful living, commitment, and community service.
Not only does he live up to the mission for Faith Empowered Ministries through spiritual demonstration during Sunday services, he also take further steps to engage the congregation as he understands that interaction is the base line of meeting the needs of the people. His commitment to God and the church together is what he calls his "first love."
Reverend West has many accomplishments to include establishing and operating his own trucking agency, West and Sons Steady Trucking, LLC., establishing a boys' basketball team to promote good behavior and mentoring through sports named
the Baltimore Base Line Shooters, creating the buzz as a host through his own internet radio show, founding a nationally recognized prayer line with live hosting and featured ministers nationwide, and completion of seminary school to say the least.
In 2015 during the wake of Freddie Gray's death (caused by and while in the hands of Baltimore city police) and the unrest in Baltimore, Reverend West lead a stream of peaceful rallies bringing awareness to both citizens and public servants in Baltimore and Nationwide demanding that justice be served. It was only weeks later that Baltimore realized it had a new strong voice and fresh face to fight for change as he quickly transitioned into the role of an activist which paved his way to becoming the Director of Youth for the Baltimore branch of the Nation Action Network founded by Reverend Al Sharpton and at Reverend Sharpton's request on April 30, 2015. Reverend West is consistently engrossed in the lives of many to include his son, parents, siblings, other relatives, friends, and associates. He can always be found diligently putting God's words into action in every aspect of his life as he clings to one of his favorite scriptures, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ that strengtheneths me" (KJV).
Words From Pastor West
Many times we don't realize that God is speaking to us. We feel an impression on the inside, a prompting to be good to someone. That's not random. That's God talking to us. Or maybe you're in a situation that seems fine, but you feel an uneasiness. Something says, "It's not right. Stay away." That's not just your nerves. It's God protecting you. Don't ignore it, don't talk yourself out of it; just obey. If you'll follow that still, small voice, God says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go" (Psalm 32:8). The Holy Spirit is in each one of us to guide us. If we're listening to His still, small voice—the promptings, the suggestions, the alarms—He will save us from heartache and pain. He'll lead us into promotion and favor.
